COTABATO CITY — The Social Development Committee (SDCom), a sectoral committee of the Bangsamoro Economic and Development Council (BEDC) conducted its third regular meeting today, December 3, held at Golden Lace Fine Dining Resto,Rosary Heights Mother, Cotabato City.
Today’s committee meeting was presided by Melanie Indar, Director I of the Bangsamoro Planning ang Development Authority (BPDA), who represented Engr. Mohajirin T. Ali, BPDA Director General, Committee Co-Chairperson and head of the technical secretariat.
The meeting highlights the updates on the creation of the Bangsamoro Regional Nutrition Council discussed by Dr. Kadil Sinolinding, Jr., Regional Nutrition Program Coordinator of the National Nutrition Council-BARMM, and the creation of Bangsamoro Gender and Development Special Committee of the BEDC.
Furthermore, the institutionalization of the Food and Drugs Administration in the Bangsamoro region and the submission of quarterly agency report in preparation for the sectoral report was also discussed during the meeting. The BPDA’s SPD will consolidate the submitted reports of the member ministries.
In line with the upcoming ‘Donors Forum’, part of the committee’s agreement was the identification of focal persons for the Sectoral Booth Display. SDCom shall convene for a special meeting prior to the said activity.
Meanwhile, the draft Bangsamoro Food Security and Nutrition Plan 2021-2025 was also presented for additional inputs of the member ministries in the social sector. (BPDA-BARMM)
