BARMM’s Statistics Committee wins 3rd place in the 6th RSC Summit Awards 2021

COTABATO CITY — In line with the 32nd National Statistics Month celebration, the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Central Office proclaimed BARMM’s Regional Statistics Committee (RSCom) as third placer for the Best Performing Regional Statistics Committee in the recently concluded 6th RSC Summit Awards 2021 held via Zoom video teleconference on Monday, October 25.

RSCom is a special committee under the Bangsamoro Economic and Development Council (BEDC) duly created through BEDC Resolution No. 1 last June 5, 2020. This committee is being chaired by Engr. Mohajirin T. Ali, Director General of the Bangsamoro Planning and Development Authority (BPDA), and co-chaired by Engr. Naser S. Usman, OIC Regional Director of PSA BARMM.

In his message, Engr. Usman expressed his profound gratitude to all RSCom members of the BARMM for their unending support and active participation to all the statistical activities of the region.

Furthermore, RSC Summit Awards is an annual event being spearheaded by PSA Central Office and attended by all members of the said committee nationwide.

Bearing the theme, “Speeding Economic Recovery through Innovative and Evidence-Based Local Development Planning”, this annual summit aims to recognize the RSC’s vital role as the policy-making body on statistical matters and undertakings at the local level.

Meanwhile, this year’s summit also highlights the presentations of breakthrough innovations, challenges and accomplishments of selected RSCs, and awarding of the ‘Breakthrough’ and Best RSC awards for the year 2021 to RSC Region 11. (BPDA-BARMM)
